Maricopa County Public Health Seeking Resident Input on COVID-19 Impacts

Survey

Input on COVID-19 Impacts; Data to be Used to Establish Funding Priorities

PHOENIX, Ariz. (June 10, 2021) – A new survey from Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) asks Maricopa County residents ages 12 and up how COVID-19 has impacted them and their families. Results from the anonymous survey will enable leaders to better direct resources and funding to organizations that are best positioned to help residents emerge from the pandemic stronger and more resilient.

“We have all been impacted by this pandemic, and collecting data through this survey will assist us in assuring that we are strategically placing resources in areas where they are most needed,” said Marcy Flanagan, executive director of Maricopa County Department of Public Health. “To this end and in an effort to ensure we hear from all residents regardless of language spoken, we have also made the survey available in 13 languages.”

The online survey, found at www.MaricopaHealthMatters.org, is open until June 30 and can be completed in 15 minutes or less. The survey asks questions about overall physical and mental health before and after COVID as well as how COVID has impacted day-to-day life. There is even a place where participants can share their own comments. No personal identifying information will be collected.

To ensure that the data provides a representative sample of the County’s population, residents are encouraged to have each member of their household age 12 and up complete their own survey and share it with a friend. Surveys are also available in alternative formats, including paper copies by emailing hipmc@maricopa.gov or by calling 602-506-6767.  If Spanish speaking community members need assistance to do the survey, they can call our Spanish-speaking Promotores line by dialing 2-1-1 ext. 271 to do it over the phone.

Results from this survey, which are expected in late August, will be posted online at www.MaricopaHealthMatters.org. The information gained through this survey will be incorporated into MCDPH’s ongoing community health improvement planning and will help inform the planning and action for cities and community-based organizations.

For more information on the survey, including answers to frequently asked questions, visit www.MaricopaHealthMatters.org where there are links to take the survey and share the survey. It is also available in Spanish at SaludMaricopa.com.
