Maricopa County voters who have an issue preventing them from voting in-person on Election Day can visit any of the Vote Centers open today, August 1 through Monday.
State law requires that a voter must provide identification and sign a statement attesting that they have experienced an emergency preventing them from voting on Election Day. It is up to the voter to decide what qualifies as an emergency.
Nearly 80 locations, approved by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, are open today and Monday, August 3, and 20 locations will be open on Sunday, August 2. Find a location at Locations.Maricopa.Vote.
On Election Day, voters can choose from any of the 99 Vote Centers open across Maricopa County.
Turnout has already eclipsed 2016 Primary Election totals, and is exceeding total early ballot returns for the 2018 Primary Election. As of Friday, more than 694,000 ballots have been returned, which is about 28.5% of all the county’s 2.4 million registered voters.
In-person voters can expect to see locations large enough to allow for physical distancing. Since the county has moved to a Vote Center election model for this August Primary, voters can choose the time and location that works for them, including some evenings and weekends. Find a complete list of locations and hours of operation at Locations.Maricopa.Vote.
The Elections Department has implemented enhanced safety protocols, including requiring poll workers to wear masks, face shields and gloves, and frequently cleaning high-touch surfaces and sanitizing pens after each use. Masks and gloves are available for all voters should they not bring their own.
For voters who have not returned their early ballot, they can still drop it off at a secure ballot drop box or at any of the Vote Centers now through Election Day on August 4 at 7 p.m.
Voters can track their early ballot by texting "Join" to 628-683 or visiting TextSignUp.Maricopa.Vote. The text message service will notify voters when their ballot is mailed, received, verified and sent to be counted.
August Primary Election Day is Tuesday, August 4, 2020.
