New River Area Plan Update
The Maricopa County Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the final draft New River Area Plan at the October 24th Commission meeting. In addition to approving the plan, the Commission concurred with staff’s recommendation to rename the plan from the New River Area Plan to the Daisy Mountain Area Plan. The purpose of renaming the plan is to better represent the three unique communities – New River, Desert Hills and Anthem – that are included in the planning area. As the final step in the process, the Board of Supervisors will consider adoption of the plan at their November 20th meeting.
